Introducing the Generation 4 Gary Turner X Billet BMX Heman Pedal Set. We wanted to make our pedals even better than the Gen 1, 2 and 3 versions in every way possible. How do we make them even stronger, by upgrading the spindles. We increased our spindle diameter from 3/8" or 9.5mm to almost 1/2" using 12mm diameter spindle shafts where the bearings sit. This is the weak point of all pedals where the spindles take the most load and can fail. We use 4140 heat treated spindles for maximum strength to hold up major impacts from jumping/landing and larger riders. We then upgraded from two bearings per pedal to four bearings to help evenly distribute load and impact that can prematurely damage or destroy bearings. We then cut out full holes in each pedal body leg for maximum weight reduction. We only use the best material with 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum to CNC cutout our pedal centers with extreme precision and detail. We upgrade all hardware to stainless steel to prevent rust and corrosion. Our pedals come in multiple colors and we CNC engrave The Gary Turner logos after anodizing for a very unique high end finished design. We also offer full chrome plated options for the customers building show bikes. These pedals have optional upgrades for bearing covers, cages washers and pedal pins in multiple colors to match the theme of your custom bike. For assembly, threadlocker (Loctite) is applied only to the two spindle bolts. We do not apply threadlocker to the cage bolts or pedal studs/pins. The use of threadlocker on these components is left to the customer's discretion based on their preferred installation method and maintenance routine.

Maintenance & Safety

Billet BMX pedals are a performance component and require regular inspection and maintenance. All fasteners should be checked periodically, as hardware can loosen over time from normal riding, impacts, vibration, and repeated use.

Before every ride, all hardware should be inspected to verify it is properly tightened using the correct tools. We strongly recommend that installation, inspection, and maintenance be performed by a qualified or certified bicycle mechanic.

Failure to properly install, inspect, and maintain your pedals may result in component failure, loss of control, serious injury, or death. The rider is solely responsible for ensuring that all pedal hardware remains properly tightened and that the pedals are safe to ride.

Billet BMX Pedal Cage Finish Disclaimer

Our Billet BMX pedal cages are manufactured by bending flat aluminum into their final shape. This forming process requires significant force and may result in small scratches, scuffs, tooling marks, and other minor cosmetic imperfections. These characteristics are a normal part of the manufacturing process and do not affect the strength, fit, or performance of the pedal cages.

To keep our complete pedal sets more affordable, the cages are not show-polished prior to anodizing. Because of this, minor cosmetic imperfections may still be visible after anodizing. Most BMX riders put lots of miles riding their bikes and are not building show bikes. Pedal cages will also get scratched from riding and this is normal wear and tear over time. 

If you are building a high-end show bike and want a flawless mirror finish, we recommend having the cages professionally show-polished before applying your desired finish. The cages can then be anodized, painted, powder coated, or plated to match your custom BMX build. Please note that any existing anodizing must be removed before show polishing. Customers who prefer to perform their own finishing may contact Billet BMX to purchase raw (unanodized) pedal cages, when stock is available.

By purchasing Billet BMX pedal cages or a complete pedal set, you acknowledge and accept that the cages are not intended to be show-quality cosmetic pieces and may contain minor scratches, tooling marks, and other cosmetic imperfections resulting from the manufacturing process. These cosmetic characteristics are normal and are not considered defects or grounds for return, exchange, or warranty claims.
